THE RECAP: HBA Expo

 Here is a recap in photos of the HBA Expo that I attended last week. The HBA Expo is for professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs looking to make a splash in the beauty industry and are looking for ways in which to do so. In attendance were beauty brands as well as packaging manufacturers from all over the world. Private brands that will put your name on a product so that you may sell it for profit. My fave part was checking out some of the rising beauty brands that are or have made leaps and bounds in the industry with amazing products that everyone is clammering to use. Some of the standouts included Lolo Barcelona, Me & The Girls,

Getting to Know You: GORGEOUS COSMETICS

Hello Beautiful People,

     In an effort to broaden our makeup knowledge of other brands other than the normal conglomerates I take to make up trade shows where you'll often find small brands, new ones, and ones that aren't often talked about because they are really just used by pros. One brand that I learned about at IMATS was Gorgeous Cosmetics, created by David McConnell an Australian born make up artist by the time he was twenty years of age. In an effort to create luxury cosmetics for the celebrities and models while also catering to the everyday woman. Along with a large range of colors Gorgeous Cosmetics also offers a vast variety of services including: makeovers, wedding day services,  makeup classes for the everyday woman and classes for students as well. Currently the brand is only available in stores overseas and online making appearances at make up trade shows like IMATS. Emmy award winning makeup artist Kevin James Bennett says "It's a nicely done line with good quality and a smart collection of products. I think it has great consumer appeal, but will definitely resonate with pros." So next time you see them make sure to check them out. Unfortunately I didn't purchase any in an effort to be good but next time Gorgeous Cosmetics next time.        In an attempt to ensure that everyone knows about the various ways to get educated in the Beauty industry, I wanted to shed light on another conference that takes place here in New York every year. The International Beauty Show is for BEAUTY PROFESSIONALS ONLY.  In other words be able to show "proof" that you work in the hair, nail, or beauty industry. Although this show is a lot more Hair focused there will be a concentrated pool of great beauty companies that will be exhibiting including my faves Eve Pearl, Royal and Langnickel, Stila, and Blinc. Kim Gray will be showing you how to achieve a "Clean Beauty Look", Eve Peal will be showing you achieve flawless corrective beauty, and Kevin James Bennett will be showing you how to edit and redefine runway looks to glamour, red carpet and modern looks for everyday women. This is only the tip of the iceberg there will be over 500 exhibitors and 100 plus free classes and shows taking place. Tickets are still available so if you fit the criteria make sure to register.
