The Recap: The Makeup Show NYC 2012

Hello Beautiful People,
            What a time was had at the NYC Makeup Show this year. Jam-packed with people James Vincent has managed to make what was already big even Bigger! Lots of great workshops and panels that you had to be present for 20-30 minutes in advance people sat on the floor and stood to hear the likes of Crystal Wright, Micheal DeVellis, Maurice Stein, Lianne Farbes, Ricky Wilson, Sherry Blossom, Victoria Stiles, Jennifer James, Johnny Lavoy and countless others who have made a stamp on the beauty community.  There were also lots of amazing vendors giving great discounts but there was special attention paid to the education aspect which was on front street and people took advantage of that. Of course you know like every year I hauled some things not as much as the first time but some real goodies like me pre-ordering the glamcor lights that you'll see below. So excited for that my video picture and vibrancy will be that much better as result so thank you Erik for creating this beauty. Check out the photos below.

Lianne Farbes Presents: Cocktails and Couture Spring 2012 Edition

             It's that time again more events then I can actually cover and oh so much material to work with when it comes to the people and the fashion that inspires me. Cocktails and Couture was of course fabulous as always. Lots of beauty and fashion bloggers ascended to this wonderful event and what did we do? Take loads of pictures, laughed a whole lot, networked a tons and enjoyed the company of our peers. More than anything this event is to celebrate diversity in the blogosphere while indulging us in food and drinks that are sooooo sooo sooo good. Some of the vendors that made an appearance was Cupcase, an awesome way to store your bras, intimates and just anything under the sun. In bright colors and eye catching prints this was easily my favorite thing. Tarte made an apperance showing off their lovely spring line of glosses, blushes and other pieces that make them so easy to love. Hypnotiq well you know they did their thing with signature drinks, and blinged out bottles that kept you coming back for more. Mega brand Proactive showed off their famous acne zapping products and gave away one beautiful Alexander Wang bag... I didn't win though Boooo! Oasis spa gave us fabulous mani's that brightened our night, and Ulta Beauty was on hand as well to do hair and beautify the already beautiful. Whew! I hope I didn't miss anything my one question for The Makeup Girl, Lianne Farbes channeling Peter Griffin " How you doing that there?" See you in the Fall!

Cocktails and Couture NYFW 2011

Hello Beautiful People,

       As I go scan the photos, editing and posting these blogs I just realize how truly blessed I am to have experienced NYFW the way that I did. From 2010 to 2011 I set a goal that I must be apart of the festivities that take place, but also surround myself with people who would allow me to be apart of the very industry that so many make up artists and fashion enthusiasts thrive in. I must say so far so good but I have a ways to go in my journey, just happy that I've networked and met some great friends to go a long for the ride.
     Cocktails and Couture brainchild of the fabulous Lianne Farbes aka The Makeup Girl, brought together all the different components that make people beautiful on film and on paper. Beauty editors, stylists, bloggers, make up artists, public relations,  hairstylists and so much more in one room which was fabulously decorated might I add at BoConcept in Chelsea, Manhattan. Sponsors and vendors included, CND, FRS Healthy Energy, Lierac, Philippe Matignon, Indique Hair, Specific Beauty skincare line,  and Immunicologie. Oh and how can I forgot the cocktails that I had only one of because it was so potent that was sponsored by X-rated Fusion Liqueur which made a fabulous signature drink called Couture Candy. So fab and so couture was everyone. The vibe was amazing the appetizers were scrumptious and the gift bag great.
