Swatch Alert MAC Mini Haul:Lippie Time!

Check out my recent haul that I did when I stumbled into MAC recently. I have a love hate relationship with MAC... hating that I love their lip colors so much. What I love most though is my ability to create unique new colors, often mixing lip tars by Obsessive Compulsive cosmetics and lip sticks or even lip glasses. I'm a true artist at heart. Check out the swatches and a look I created using a lip tar and gloss together

SWATCH ALERT! NEW Aqua Shadows from Make Up For Ever

Hello Beautiful People,

       As Spring and Summer make there arrival alternatively (I call it emotional weather) Lots of brands are launching their Spring and Summer collections. I was able to go out to the Make Up For Ever Boutique in NYC to check it out first hand. My fave color is the gray that is unlike any other color I have in my current collection so I picked it up. What colors are you going to get? I will say this in terms of "budgability" these Aqua Shadows have great staying power so these are a "Merli's Must Buy".  I also saw some of my great friends too so I'm sharing those photos with you also. Enjoy!

MAC Me Over Lip Swatches

Hello Beautiful People,

      Wanted to share some of the MAC Me Over Collection that I purchased particularly the lip products which predominantly were neutral tones that you can use on most complexions. I was impressed that I loved so many items in one collection. I also purchased shadows which I've already swatched here. Here are the lip colors that I purchased (in order of the way pictures are posted.

1.Spite lip gloss with Medium Kevyn Aucoin lip pencil (pale nude color)

2. Curvaceous lipglass (Pink neutral color)

3. Plum Fun (light plum color)

4. Prince Noir ( dark vampire burgundy color)

5 Oh oh oh (golden  brownish color very light)

6. Runaway Red (perfect red color for all complexions)

7. Rebel (beautiful purple fucsia looking color)

Dupey Dupe MAC Me Over Shadows and the Naked Palette

Hello Beautiful People,

So as per request of the beautiful Beverly @fullyBeatable I've swatched my Naked palette from Urban Decay and five of the six shades that was released from the MAC Me Over collection. The one shadow I didn't purchase was Satin Taupe because I felt like I didn't need it but its still a beautiful color nevertheless. The two dupes are Creamy Bisque(MAC)-Virgin(UD) and Moleskin(MAC)-Naked (UD) The other colors were far off Outre(MAC) was more of a tan color more flesh tone ten Buck(UD) which was a ashier skin. Carbonized(MAC) is a dark brown while Darkhouse(UD)is dark brown with bronze undertones

Kevin Aucoin Swatches & Reviews

           I'm so excited and even privilege to have been able to play in the art that is Kevin Aucoin's beauty line as result of the sample sale that took place this past week. There is another sale taking place on Aug 11th and 12th at 56 West 22nd street on the 2nd floor tell em Miss Merli sent you :). You will certainly not be disappointed and you will be helped by the amazing Danny and Desiree. I wanted to share swatches of the many items that I swatched at the sale. I believe the only thing I didn't was foundations, but let me tell you about it the foundation is a full coverage one which can be sheered at with their amazing primer or your daily facial moisturizer to your liking. I will review my foundation as well as my haul in a future post. Just FYI if there is a <3 next to an item that is my icon to say I love it :)

The Pencil eye shadows might be the one thing I'd leave if you were on a budget. Not for beginners since you have to manipulate the colors wet.

If you love blush in all colors this is for you. For my beautiful brown, dark skin sistah's I die this is for you. Great blend-ability so don't be frightened just blend blend blend if you want the color to be lighter.

Love these shadows very pigmented and the wear is long without eye primer, great for all day or all night wear

Palettes 1- 6 and the Spring Palette are very pigmented and the colors vary so you can't go wrong if you're starting your own kit. I love these shadows wet to get the most from the colors.

That big momma in the middle is now my favorite brush to finish everything off. If you have no brushes I would invest in these brushes expensive but worth it.

I love the Gossamer loose powder also a favorite of Oprah and the Sensual Skin Enhancer a little goes a long way mixed with primer or foundation which FYI love the little primer to carry in my beauty kit
