My Story: Recovering Shopaholic

Yes I am a recovering shopaholic. Not hard to believe right if you're a follower of my instagram or twitter ( MissMerli ) you'll see that I love going "window shopping" and taking lots of pictures, to document what I love and two to share with everyone where the best fashion and beauty finds are. Somehow in doing that I've been able to recover, it also helps that my shopping funds are shot so there!

As a lover of everything fashion and beauty, (oh and lets not forget my love of new technologies... yea that gets expensive quickly), I'm bombarded with emails and tweets about the best sales, can't miss exclusives which about four years ago created a perfect storm for me to become a serious shopaholic. At the same time I was dealing with a break up after being with a man for nine years, all that time I was in control or so I thought. Then there was a switch, shopping became my therapy, and the only thing that made me happy. Some say it was my way to cope, I believe it was chip embedded a decade before. Living in poverty but always having a true love for fashion but never indulging because I never could, it had finally caught up with me.

I've learned while I love shiny new things, there is nothing like financial freedom. I've finally found what I needed, which was to fulfill my dreams and to channel my energies into something constructive that provides me happiness, online journalism. Not owing anyone makes me happy, talking about the things I love and sharing with you makes me quite happy. What I realized was that shopping became therapy, in reality though I needed actual therapy and not the large amount of material things that I amassed.

Now it's a controlled hobby especially after paying almost sixteen thousand dollars worth of debt off, I refuse to be a slave to feelings, to my past, and to my love for fashion and beauty.  Don't get me wrong I relapse but having freedom keeps me in line, plus thrift shopping is so good on the wallet.

Feening Fashion Tuesday

Hello Beautiful People!

How are you... well this past week has been so eye opening for me. As you know I love shopping but now I realize I need to take a break or I need to learn to watch from afar or plan ahead. So from now on I'm going to post some of the fashion finds that I want (I never need lol) and see on the internet. High and lows so anything from Old Navy to Outet.com Welp enjoy my first feening fashion tuesday. Today I will be window shopping on TheOutnet.com

I am totally loving this Zimmermann bathing suit from TheOutnet.com because of the amazing price $88 and the hiding capabilities for my tummy of course and strapless is always fun.

Aren't these Sergio Rossi Snake shoes fabulous. I'm a huge platform fan because of the stability as well as the ability to wear higher heights without fear of falling :) Also from TheOutnet I also just realized that if I was going to a pool party that heel and suit would go perfect together.

Both dresses are See by Chloe I love both of them so cool and timeless. Dress it up with heels or down with ballet flats you simply can't go wrong with either dress.

Am I the only weird that is over 25 and still loves backpacks. Well honey this Sydney Tweed backpack by Alexander Wang is for the grown and sexy in my opinion.

Live, Laugh, Love and Learn
